Peru
is one of the few areas in the world which combines
astonishing landscapes with ancient cities,
temples and gigantic drawings - mighty relics
of the great Inka and Pre-Inka cultures.
This trip has been specially designed to cover
mysterious and natural places: The mysterious
Nazca Lines, The Colca Canyon and the Amazing
Machu Picchu. We will begin exploring the land
of the ancient Nazca culture in the
extensive desert plains of coastal Peru, with
a highly advanced technique of drawing gigantic
figures in the desert shingle, hundreds of kilometers
are filled with drawings of animals like the
spider, the monkey, the whale, the condor, the
hummingbird and other geometric figures that
even today are studied for their true significance.
One of the few people who was able to decipher
the mystery of these lines is the mathematician,
Maria Reiche, based on her studies, we will
cover the most prominent places to get a better
understanding of these mysterious lines, but
the best part of this trip will be the flight
over these lines – a truly exceptional
experience, for only by flying like the majestic
Condor can one fully appreciate the stunning
precision of the lines and figures.

Then
our journey will take us to one
of the deepest gorges of the world,
The Colca Canyon, twice the depth
of the Grand Canyon, a natural area
surrounded by snow capped peaks,
and volcanoes, where there are special
places like the Cruz del Condor,
a viewpoint to look for the majestic
Sacred Andean Condor. The trip continues
to the ancient city of Cusco, hiking
to Huchuy Qosqo, a fascinating Inka
Site, a sacred temple constructed
on a small plateau which has one
of the most impressive views of
the Sacred Valley of the Inkas.
Finally this journey will take us
to the marvelous stone city of Machu
Picchu, built with incredible engineering.
|
|
Each
one of its stones was chosen specially
so it joins with its neighboring stones
with a delicacy and skill that the ancient
Andean peoples perfected. Yet, Machu Picchu
stands as the perfect complement to Nature,
harmonizing its exquisite design with
surrounding sacred mountains and rivers.
This stage of the journey will also pass
